Duties and Responsibilities: 1. Management of the departmental budget. 2. Fire service readiness of department personnel and equipment. 3. The procurement of supplies, materials and equipment under approved policies and guidelines. 4. Departmental training and safety. 5. The administration of personnel policies. 6. The coordination of fire services with other departments. 7. Fire prevention programs and preparedness drills. 8. Coordination with local, state and federal emergency management officials. 9. Maintenance of supplies, equipment and facilities. 10. Fire investigations. 11. The inventory of all supplies and equipment. 12. Perform other duties as directed by the DEPARTMENT BOARD OF DIRECTORS. 13. Comply with provisions of the SVFD Charter and laws of the state as they relate to fire services. The Fire Chief shall devote their time to the duties of his office and shall maintain control of the fire department. He or she shall be available via cellular telephone or pager at all hours
